PA State Senior Idol Competition Gearing Up for 7th Year
Jan 10, 2012, 2:36 p.m.
Can you belt it out like nobody’s business? Do you belong on Dancing with the Stars? Are you wild and crazy like Steve Martin? Pennsylvanians over 50 are invited to try out for the seventh annual PA State Senior Idol competition, presented by On-Line Publishers, Inc.
All state residents 50 and older are encouraged to show off their talent during a private, one-time audition. Each entrant may choose their first-choice location for their 3.5-minute audition, but auditions per location are limited, so placement will be on a first-come, first-reserved basis.
Auditions for the 2012 competition will be held at four locations this spring:
- Tuesday, April 24: Body Zone, 3103 Paper Mill Road, Wyomissing
- Wednesday, April 25: York Little Theatre, 27 S. Belmont St., York
- Wednesday, May 2: Broadway Classics Theatre at the Harrisburg Mall, 3501 Paxton St., Harrisburg
- Thursday, May 3: The Heritage Hotel Lancaster, 500 Centerville Road, Lancaster
Fifteen semifinalists will perform before a live audience at the finals night competition on June 4 at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster. Diane Dayton of Dayton Communications will emcee the event.
The winner of PA State Senior Idol 2012 will receive a trip via limousine to New York City for dinner and a show. For more information, call On-Line Publishers at (717) 285-1350 or visit www.SeniorIdolPA.com to register for an audition.
